Steel and Glass Hugo Eppich House from Arthur Erickson located on a south-facing slope of West Vancouver, the residence was designed for the owner of a diversified manufacturing firm specializing in metal fabrication. The home design intent is to construct the primarily steel and glass building using the materials, expertise, and labour available in the plant. The 7,000 square foot structure comprises of three levels set at right angles to the slope of the site. The other two levels are perched in terraces cut parallel into the site and retained by stone planter walls.

A creek bordering the south end of the site will be diverted to create a reflecting pool completing the series of pools on each terrace above. The hard materials of the building itself will be contrasted by the softer interior finishes.
