Spider-Man star J.K. Simmons lowered the asking price for this contemporary home to $1.775 million.

He may play a fast-talking, grimy news editor in the Spider-Man trilogy, but J.K. Simmons is playing another role this year: price-chopping home seller. The movie star, who has also played a the father of a pregnant teen in Juno and a CIA superior in Burn After Reading, listed his home in October 2008 at $1.995 million and recently lowered the asking number to $1.775 million.

The contemporary-style home has just over 4,000 square feet of living space and features an open floor plan, stainless steel appliances, three fireplaces and a big landscaped backyard. The Hollywood Hills home seems remote, but it’s close enough to the studios on either side of the hill to be convenient. Bonus: Your new next-door neighbor will be Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.
